The Asia Pacific region has recently emerged as the powerhouse of global economic growth and social change. Its geographical expanse, cultural diversity and wide spectrum of developmental needs present extraordinary challenges for civil society and philanthropic organizations that design and execute community programs.
From our regional hub in Hong Kong, United Way Worldwide supports the work of UWW’s network partners in ten Asia-Pacific countries by providing training, capacity building, fund raising support and knowledge exchange platform for our partners in Australia, China, Indonesia, India, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Since 2005, UWW has also provided funding support via IDAG (International Donor Advised Giving) to over 560 NGOs in 10 additional countries in the region, including Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Your generous support to UWW Asia will enable us to further the reach and impact of our capacity building efforts as we develop new regional partnerships and expand our physical presence in Asia Pacific. We believe that a strong third sector in this region will help UWW advance our goal of making health, education and financial stability available to every person in every community.
